Well ... The new country music of today will be oldies and classics and the todays oldies and classics will be legends - I still would play them of course. But have no clue what different stlyes of "newer" country music we will get in future, but I fear that it will be mixed with rap and hip hop - or maybe with industrial stuff in twenty years. Then I just will play what I played today and will dream of "the good ole times"

If you could change or add to any of these questions, what would it be, and why?
Probably delete this one - because the interview is just great! But without this question it woulnd't be the same interview anymore... And i wouldn't be able to type this reply. So probably this question made sense too, got me some time to philosophize. So I think it's perfect!

If you have anything you would like to add, please do it here.

Loris McPhail, Australia
Ten questions for our guest radio presenters.

What is your name, your location, and your radio call letters?
My name is Loris McPhail, I am a country music presenter on 101.5 Beau FM 4BSR, Queensland, Australia.

How long have you been a radio presenter?
I have been a radio presenter with 101.5 Beau FM 4BSR for four years.

If you could be any animal, what would it be, and why?
If I could be an animal I think I'd choose to be proud stallion, kick my heels up & feel the wind through my mane & I'd get to feature in so many great country songs.

What style of country music do you play on air?
As I'm presently on-air during formatted hours the country music I present is contemporary. Classic traditional tracks are also featured but at a lower ratio.

Do you play indi artist on air?
Artists featured on the playlists are Australian & overseas artists, both "indie" & "signed". My passion is seeing that "indie" artists receive air-play & also that they also have access to "live" to-air interviews.

What CD is in your personal player today?
My favourite CD at this time is by Aussie artist Dan Kerwin, CD titled "Live From America".

What kind of country music will you be playing on the radio in twenty years?
The genre of country music I shall be playing on-air in 20 years, definitely traditional country.

Do you take requests on your radio show?
During my air-time I am able to play requests as long as they blend with the format.

If you could date any country artist past or present, who would it be, and why?
Well this is a question I have often pondered, "who would I like to date"? I'd have to say Merle Haggard sounds pretty interesting, but I'd love to go for coffee with Keith Urban..??

If you could change or add to any of these questions, what would it be, and why?
Instead of asking me "what kind of animal would I like to be", I would have preferred being asked "what brand of guitar would you like to be" ... think about it..??

Thank you for your time and for allowing us to get to know you better.

A horse ... running wild and free! OR a songbird ... singing my song!

What style of country music do you play on air?
Bluegrass, new and old. Traditional country, or at least traditional sounding country, and also, Gospel, with a little western & cowboy swing thrown in for fun!
Love that Roy Rogers, ya know?! Hey, what I play, "It's ALL GOOD!!!!"

Do you play indie artists on air?
Always ... everyday ... a lot! IF I like it, I play it.

What CD is in your personal player today?
That's my secret! (snicker) ... I'm NOT gonna pick my favorites in an interview!

What kind of country music will you be playing on the radio in twenty years?
Same as today ... always ... it never "gets old" with me! If it's awesome now ... as it was then, it will still be awesome in the future!

Do you take requests on your radio show?
Yes.. they have to write me or email them to me at GRACIEMULDOON@AOL.COM.

If you could date any country artist past or present, who would it be, and why?
Oh man ... great question!!! Let's see. .. who isn't married ... or does it matter since we're day dreamin'? ... HMMMM ... Toby Keith, because he's a patriot like me, I like his personality!. and then there's ... the new Christian guy ... hunky Josh Turner, 'cause he's so darn good lookin'.... and... WAYLON... ' cause he's.. well.. WAYLON!!! Then there's ... uh-oh ... gonna make hubby mad.. so I'll try to stop right there.. but have to mention GEORGE JONES, and almost forgot Randy Travis ... (GULP!) Now for the bluegrass side ... there's Ralph II, Ricky Skaggs, Andy Leftwich, Dwight McCall ... (This answer is getting out of hand!) ;) wink~

If you could change or add to any of these questions, what would it be, and why?
Uh.. the dating question ... had a lot more to answer that one ... LOL ... Honest, & Happy married redneck Kentucky girl, living in Cincinnati, here. Thanks be to the LORD!

If you have anything you would like to add, please do it here.
Well, are you wanting a piece of my mind? I have so little to spare ! :) I have met and made, many great new friends, in bluegrass and country, artists and groups online and at concerts and festivals ... other Dj's and artists, that I never would've got to meet, had it not been for RADIO. It's a rough business, sometimes, you feel unappreciated, I guess, like at any other job, but at the public radio level, and even professional level, if you want to play what "they" want you to play, or what you want to play, you have to make some concessions somewhere.
With me, I'd rather take less money, or no money, to play the music and artists I love. Radio poor, is what you could call me! Good thing my husband supports my habit. I love the Lord and always give Him the credit for whatever talent and opportunity, He has blessed me to have, to share with others. Really, I'm just being myself, and finding out that there are a lot of folks out there that are just like me. We love all kinds of music, if it's good, has a good message or story, that has some socially redeeming value to it. I love Gospel music, because of it's message, but if it's a funny Ray Stevens or Moron Brothers' song that makes someone laugh and forget their troubles for a few minutes, I think it has it's own job to do, as do I, and I love that too. I love making people happy. Being raised by a minister and a Sunday school teacher, I have been blessed to find God, his son Jesus, and also His wonderful sense of humor. I mean, look at us. So thanks to my dad and mom and sisters and brother, my hubby and kids (who taught me to laught at myself!).
I also want to thank you Colonel Robert Morris and your lovely wife Irene, for asking me to do this. It's folks like you, that write the songs, that make folks like me, want to play them.
Thank you for your time and for allowing us to get to know you better.
